Message from the Headteacher

Welcome to St Bartholomew’s School

I hope that you will find it interesting and that it will provide you with useful information about the school.

I am extremely proud to be the headteacher of St Bart’s as it is a thriving, highly successful school and a fantastic place for young people to learn and develop.  At the school we have high aspirations for every student and we strive to ensure that all students achieve their full potential through a clear focus on learning and achievement in a supportive environment.  Students only get one chance and we take our role in providing the best possible opportunities for them very seriously.

Through our strong House system we ensure that every student is known as an individual and we challenge and stimulate them regardless of ability so that they can all achieve within a happy and secure environment. We are proud of all our students’ achievements and we take time to celebrate these whether they are academic, sporting, artistic or dramatic.

We especially value our collaboration with parents and the wider community, ensuring that this partnership is to the benefit of your son or daughter and this is a critical part of our success together with the consistently high expectations we have of our students, staff and governors.

The school also benefits from the governors continued commitment to quality through their policy to maintain class sizes that average 26 or fewer in Years 7-11 and to offer a wide range of appropriate courses in the Sixth Form.

St Bartholomew’s School is continuing to move forwards with increasing and considerable success and I hope you will want to join us to be part of that success. If you have any further queries or you wish to visit the school, then please contact us.
