What is Enterprise Learning?
 |
An enterprising person is someone who uses their initiative, makes the most of limited resources and is determined to succeed. Enterprise learning is the process of developing the skills and attitude of an enterprising person. We believe this will help our pupils succeed: as future entrepreneurs, the business owners of tomorrow; in the workplace where employers are increasingly demanding employees with initiative, drive and independent thinking. |
What is an Enterprise Activity?
Enterprise activities need not involve actually running a business. In life, enterprising work goes on outside the confines of business activity. Therefore an enterprise activity is defined as any learning experience with the following characteristics:
- Students have the freedom to decide the focus of the activity
- Students work in teams or alone, undertaking specific roles to complete tasks
- Students are asked to identify and obtain appropriate resources
- Students are given responsibility for managing the activity
- The activity reflects the constraints and practice of the adult business world
- The activity has a definite end result, which may be a product or a service
- The activity is monitored and evaluated
