KS5 Awards Evening Celebrates Successes

Over 250 former Sixth Form students and their parents/carers returned to St Bartholomew’s School last term for the annual Awards Evening. This year group gained exceptional results. 80% of all grades were a C Grade or better and well over 50% of all grades were A*, A or B. 25 students secured 3 Grades at A* or A, and the overall progress of students was rated as ‘Excellent’.  So it’s no surprise that this was a particularly positive and well-attended evening.

With a rapidly expanding Sixth Form some exciting new aspects were introduced to the ceremony including greater emphasis on the Duke of Edinburgh Award. For the first time an award was given for exceptional contribution to the wider community and 4 accolades for outstanding involvement in Houses’ activities. The evening culminated in an inspirational address from a former student, Matthew Hodgkin, who is forging a successful career in the film industry at Pinewood and Shepperton Studios.
