School Trips – Terms & Conditions

Winter Weather Procedures

St Bart’s expects to remain open throughout the year, given our modern buildings, site and equipment. Care should always be taken when walking to and from school. In severe weather, individuals’ decisions with regard to travel to school, must be based on their assessment of local road and transport conditions. Should extreme conditions necessitate a closure on health and safety grounds, or a later start to the school day, information will be provided as quickly as possible via:

• The school email system
• St Bart’s website www.stbarts.co.uk (homepage)

Should it be necessary to close the school part way through the school day, we will communicate this via:

• The school email system
• St Bart’s website www.stbarts.co.uk (homepage)

In the event of an early closure, we will assume that parents/carers give permission for their child to be released from school, earlier than the normal time of 3.10pm (or 2:50pm on a Friday), unless parents/carers let us know, preferably by email (or telephoning the House Office). In any circumstances we would be able to supervise students until such a time when parents could arrange collection. If the school were to be closed, students should look on Satchel One to find the work set.

ParentPay

1. The school uses ParentPay for trip payments and school dinner money. To access ParentPay, please log in to the Parentpay website (log in and passwords supplied by the school).

ParentPay is a convenient way for parents/carers to top-up catering balances and /or pay for trips and activities using a credit/debit card online. Please note that ParentPay is the only method of making payments to school.

Setting Up Parent Pay Alerts

All students are required to do independent study (homework) according to a set timetable. Independent study will be set by teachers using the Satchel One software.

All independent study set can be seen via the school website and parents have log-ins to allow them to see the full details of the work set for their own child. Students have their own individual log-ins.

Our Parents’ Evening system is an easy to use online appointment booking system that allows our parents and carers to book their own appointments with teachers.

We will inform Parents and carers via email when appointments for Parents’ Evening open for booking. Appointments will be limited to one per teacher and assigned on a first come, first served basis.

Ofsted Parent View gives you the chance to tell Ofsted what you think of your child’s school, including: how happy your child is at the school and how the school manages bullying or challenging behaviour. The questionnaire can be completed at any time – you don’t have to wait until the school is being inspected. SIMS Parent App allows parents to check and edit the contact details that we hold on our database to ensure they are always up to date. Parents are also able to access their child’s timetable and an archive of issued reports.

Keeping Informed
