Dear Year 12,
As we reach the end of the first two weeks of
working from home, and the end of term, we wanted to say a huge well done for
getting through it.
The last two weeks have seen a significant shift
in daily life for us all and there is no official end date. As things stand, we
are looking to run practice exams in June but circumstances will determine
whether that is possible. If that is not possible, we will be looking instead
to run some practice exams in September. Things will return to normal.
We are trying to ensure that you still can
engage successfully with all your subjects. Mr Robbins has written an article
for Bartholonews about how technology will have an increasing role in this and further information will be coming out about
how your work will be set after the Easter holiday.
This experience is being described as many
things, a pandemic, a crisis, with similarities being made to a war-like
mentality. You will learn about yourself through this experience, coming out
the other side older and wiser, but also with a different perspective.
To live is to experience change; it is also for
you to take on what you can control, what you can do, to continue to live your
lives, albeit in a different style for the time being. You will all be having
totally different experiences as you spend more time at home than you have in a
long time, if not the most time you have ever spent at home. To help you with
this time we just wanted to offer some resources and reminders, before the
Easter holiday. Please see the attached document.
We hope that you are able to
make this time work for you, and continue to look ahead; if you need us,
electronically shout. Stay in contact and let us know how we can support
you.
Stay safe.
Thank you,
S Austin-Smith and R Talbot
