Lots of cricketing activity again last week with the Year 7 boys playing Reading Blue Coat School, St Bart`s holding the first Year 7 girls’ cricket festival and Year 8 and 9 in action too!

Year 7 Boys’ Cricket

The Year 7 Boys’ Cricket Team played a close match against Reading Blue Coat School (RBC) in the County Cup. St Bart’s won the toss and put RBCS into bat first, and they scored 131 for 3 off 20 overs. St Bart’s scored 99 all out off 17 overs. A very respectable score. Players of the match were Yudeesh Balachandran and Ed Hancock for their brilliant batting partnership.

 Year 7 Girls’ Cricket

St Bart`s held the first Year 7 girls’ cricket festival.

Thank you to our groundsman James Bloodworth who created four amazing cricket pitches for us on Luker field.

7 schools took part.

Our A team lost to St Gabriel’s School and to Park House School A. Our B team lost to Willink School and beat Theale Green School.

A big thank you to the Year 10 sports leaders who helped with setting up, packing up and umpiring (pictured in red above).

Year 8 Cricket

The Year 8 cricket team won their first West Berkshire league fixture against Kennet School. Lots of great individual performances, player of the match was awarded to Leo Clark. Well done to all involved!

Year 9 Cricket

Year 9 girls played their first round of cricket games. St Bart’s A played Willink School and Park House School and won both of their games. St Bart’s B unfortunately lost both their games against St Gabriel’s School and Trinity School. Thank you to our lovely sports leaders who came and umpired their games. Nina, Ellie, Hannah, and Emily.
