Berkshire School Games at Bisham Abbey

The Berkshire School Games took place on Wednesday 27 March. St Bart’s was well represented at this event both as competitors and as Sports Leaders.

Our Year 10 Sports Leaders were instrumental in officiating and organising the Primary Schools Tag Rugby festival, which involved Primary Schools across the County. Having received an afternoon of training from a Newbury Rugby coach the group were well prepared for this event. The Leaders did a superb job throughout a very hectic morning and were, as always, excellent ambassadors for our school, receiving many compliments from staff and parents regarding the support and professionalism they had shown to the younger students.

Our combined Year 7 and 8 Girls’ football team were county representatives at this competition and played consistently well throughout the morning, finishing in 2nd place out of 8 schools from across Berkshire.

In the afternoon the Girls Indoor Athletics Team competed against 15 Berkshire schools in a variety of events. It was a tight competition in which St Barts was placed 2nd, an outstanding achievement and missing out on 1st place by 1 point! Congratulations to the following students on their excellent team performances:

An excellent day, well done to everyone who took part!
