On Tuesday 25 June, over 180 of our Year 11 students enjoyed their school prom at Donnington Grove Hotel along with a number of members of St Bart’s staff. The evening was full of fun, laughter and lots of dancing. Students were treated to a photobooth, buffet, DJ, sweet stand and a stunning venue, decorated by our Year 11 Prom Committee.
We are delighted to announce that eight of our current Year 13 students have received offers to study medicine or veterinary science at University. This follows months of hard work and study to complete entry tests and interviews at their chosen Universities.
The offers to study medicine are at Cardiff, Bristol, Birmingham, Southampton, Sheffield, Kings College, London and UEA. One student has chosen to study Veterinary Medicine at Nottingham after she was offered a remarkable four places.
Congratulations to the Year 7 students who performed superbly in the recent Area Athletics competition. The girls' & boys' teams came 1st! Several students were selected to compete at the County Championships on Tuesday 2 July. Congratulations and good luck to all those selected and well done to everyone involved.
Another superb day of athletics for this highly talented squad. Congratulations to all team members who had an outstanding day of performances at Millfield both on the track and in the field events. Their final total was 364 points which put them in 2nd place, just missing out on 1st place to Marist School who scored 368 points. Well done to you all, every point counts!

Well done on some fabulous team performances with impressive scores. Special congratulations to the student who achieved a personal best in the 1500m with a time of 5 min 08.
Congratulations to the students who took part in the Quad Kids Athletics Competition on Thursday 6 June at Park House. Each athlete had to compete in the 800m, 100m, Long Jump and Vortex Javelin; the faster they ran and the further they threw and jumped the more points they scored as an individual and the more points they contributed to the overall team score.
St Bart’s finished in 1st place out of 6 schools which was a great team performance.
Mark is leading two afternoon sessions for the Sports Leaders which enables them to achieve a Cricket Leaders Award.
On Tuesday 21 May students from John Rankin visited St Bart's to use the school Nature Reserve. They had a tour of the various areas, such as the wildflower meadow, orchard, bug hotel and waterfall and then enjoyed finding out about some of the exciting creatures that inhabit the pond. It was a beautiful sunny day and lots of fun was had by all.
The Ten Tors event took place on Dartmoor on the weekend of 11 and 12 May, with the Year 10 team facing a 35 mile challenge, entirely self sufficiently, over 2 days, and the Year 12 team taking on a route of over 45 miles.
