Remembrance Day 2021

On Thursday 11 November, the whole school gathered in the hub for the annual St Bart's Remembrance Service which this year was led by Co-Head Teacher, Dr. Fitter. In addition to all students and staff, the service was attended by governors and members of the Parents’ Association.

The School Officers laid wreaths in the Memorial Garden and were joined by members of the CCF by the flagpole to lower the flag to half-mast.


Year 10 Lacrosse

On Monday 11 October, the Year 10 lacrosse squad travelled to Marlborough on a bright sunny afternoon and were eager to take to the pitch. In a game of four quarters the squad worked hard to contain their opponents and played some impressive lacrosse. The final score was a draw, 8-8. Well done to all players.

Congratulations to India and Pippa who were awarded players of the match.


English Schools Swimming Gala

Junior (Y7/8) and Intermediate (Y9/10) girls’ teams competed in the freestyle and medley relays at this prestigious event. As a result of fantastic swimming by all the girls are reserves for the finals at the London Aquatic Centre in November. This event has been streamlined to the top 20 English schools and it has become harder to qualify due to Covid restrictions. But we are hopeful the Intermediate girls will be selected, watch this space! The girls said;


Combined Cadet Force

For the first time in two years, St Bart’s CCF was able to fulfil all its planned activities in the first half of this term.

On the last weekend in September, 23 cadets from Years 10 and 11 with supporting staff experienced the delights of Dartmoor. Camping at Runnage Farm near Postbridge,


England Junior Judo Squad for Phoebe

Phoebe (12C5) has been practising Judo since she was 6 years old. Winning numerous competitions over the years, she is currently 4 times British Schools Champion.

Despite all the competitions and a lot of training last year being cancelled, Phoebe is now moving from the England Squad Cadets (U17 year olds) into the Juniors (Under 21 year olds). This has involved recent training camps in Portugal with the Portuguese national squad and also in Croatia with their national squad. She trains 3 times a week at her club in Bristol in addition to national squad training and she is studying DISE (Diploma in Sporting Excellence) at Bath University.


Young Carers

Young carers are children and young people under 18 who take on caring tasks and responsibilities within their family that most of us only do as adults. The term does not apply to the everyday and occasional help around the home that may often be expected of or given by children in families.


Year 10 & 11 Girls Football 

On Wednesday 29 September St Bart’s took part in the first round of the national U16 girls’ football cup. 

We played at home against Kennet School. It was a close and exciting game that we managed to win 3-2! 

Erin Cahoon was awarded player of the match for scoring an amazing goal securing the win.
