There has been much in the news about the quality of school meals over half term. St Bart’s has managed its own catering for at least ten years. All the meat, poultry and sausages in our school meals is ordered from our local family butcher, Thatcham Butchers, which prides itself on the provision of top quality products. This family business butchers its own meat and only provides mince from meat butchered at the premises.
We have the highest standards when it comes to Food Safety; our rating is 5 star.
Monday’s menu of Pasta Bolognese saw the meat delivered to school by the butcher at 6.45am; the meal was then freshly prepared and cooked by the catering team and was ready to serve to students and staff for lunch.
