Catering Information and Menu
Our aim is to provide a high quality, value for money catering service to our staff and students. Food is available in our main school canteen and a selection of food is also available at our Bart’s Bites Kiosks. Sixth Form also has their own canteen.
Our Cashless Catering System
At St Bart’s we operate a cashless catering system. This is carried out by means of a biometric algorithm (a fingerprint scan) for which parental permission must be given via the consent form sent to new families. Students can also request a consent form from the Facilities Office, please ask your student’s tutor.
The cashless catering system provides many benefits:
- Students do not need to carry cash in school.
- Lunch money is only spent on healthy school meals.
- The preset daily limit of £5.25 means students can only spend the money on themselves. If parents wish to increase or decrease this amount they can advise the catering manager of their preferred limit by emailing abillingham@stbarts.co.uk
- Service is made much quicker.
- The system allows us to print out exactly a student has purchased, should a parent wish to request a copy of this from us.
If, for any reason, parents do not wish their student to have their biometric algorithm taken, a pin number can be issued.
Topping up a Catering Balance
ParentPay is the method for making payments to a student’s catering balance using a credit/debit card online. Once parents have activated their account, from September or the date a student is admitted, they will be able to make payments for a student’s school lunches. More information on ParentPay can be found on our Parent App page.
Eligibility for Free School Meals
