Cultural Capital Posters

Published 30 March 2023

Our Year 7 and Y8 MFL students have combined their artistic talents, research and language skills in order to produce some eye-catching and creative cultural posters. Each class was given the task to research interesting facts about either a country or city where French, German or Spanish are spoken and then had to present their work in an A4 informative poster. We feel it is so important that the students are aware that our main MFL languages are not just spoken in France, Germany and Spain and that we help students develop an understanding and empathy for the wide variety of cultures represented in each of the countries chosen.

Each class had a winner that was put through to an overall year group competition. This competition has become an annual event in the MFL calendar and the quality of the posters becomes higher each year. We are delighted to acknowledge the work of the overall winners and want to say a big thank you to all Year 7 and Year 8 students who took part. You can see the new display of winners in the MFL corridor, with runner up posters throughout the MFL classrooms. Here are a few photos of the winners and main runners up.  Well done all!
