St Bartholomew’s School is absolutely delighted to be celebrating a record set of results for our Year 13 students this year. To achieve such amazing results at a time of massive change in qualifications is testament to the high quality of the teaching and preparation provided by the staff at the school and to the dedication, commitment and sheer hard work of the students.
A remarkable one-third of all grades achieved were at A* or A, nearly 60% were at B or better and the overall pass rate was 99.8% across 661 entries. All of these figures represent the best results ever achieved at St Bart’s, where we continue to be proud of our open access entry, providing opportunities for all students to achieve.
Twenty-seven students gained at least 3 A*/A grades or better, with 9 achieving this mark across four subjects. Special mention must be made of the truly remarkable achievement of Max Leftley in gaining 5 A* grades and of Christopher Long and Izzy Sanderson, who achieved 4 A* grades each. Five further students gained 3 A* grades: Tom Webster, Arun Bhandari, Susie Drake, Ben Loosen and also Chloe Leftley, meaning the twins gained 8 A* grades from their 8 A level entries! All ten students who held offers from Oxford or Cambridge or for prestigious medicine and veterinary science courses have achieved the grades required to begin these courses and over 150 St Bart’s students will be taking up places at universities across the country.
This is a cohort of students who also excelled at GCSE and they have been joined this morning in celebrating their great success by many additional students who joined our sixth form from other schools two years ago.
