Kenyan School Partnership

We are pleased that our partnership with Ulafu Secondary School, Kenya is taking shape. After almost a year out of school due to Covid-19, Ulafu Secondary School Community are back to school despite the challenges of Covid-19 containment measures.

Last week the student leadership steering the partnership activities met to chat about the way forward on projects in line with the global themes that we are working on. Here are some of their resolutions.

  • Start preparations for vegetable planting. The nursery has already been prepared for planting
  • Establish tree nursery before the end of the term.
  • Produce posters to sensitise the school and community on waste management.
  • Sensitise the students on issues around gender equality in the upcoming prefect elections so as to have a more inclusive student council.

The St Bart’s student committee will do more work on this when they return to school. Watch this space for further updates.
