This autumn St Bart’s swimmers have made history by becoming the first swimming teams to enter the English School Swimming Qualifiers. Both the boys and girls teams must now wait to see if they have qualified for the Nationals at the prestigious London Aquatics Centre in November.
Fantastic individual and team performances by our boys’ junior and inter squads resulted in them coming third and fourth in their heats.
Thirty-four schools were competing, most of which have been going to the competition for a number of years.
Following on from boys’ success the girls also attended a fantastic gala at the English Schools Qualifiers. Both the junior and intermediate squads swam incredibly well, achieving some individual personal bests as well as tight relay swims.
Highlights included our junior squad just missing out on the bronze in their medley relay and our intermediate girls being placed a solid twelfth out of forty four schools. Most importantly it was wonderful to see the girls supporting each and the camaraderie on poolside.
