From the undefeated Year 8 Cricket team to the successes of the Inter Girls at Millfield St Bart’s sports’ teams continue to impress their teachers with their enthusiasm and commitment. Here’s a round up of this week’s PE…

Year 9 & 10 Girls’ Regional Athletics Finals
Millfield, Wednesday 15 June
Huge congratulations to the Inter Girls’ Athletics team who competed at the A final at Millfield on the 15 June. It was a superb day with some excellent performances from all team members throughout the day enabling a very impressive team total of 388 points.

Outstanding performances were from Anna Delavere, Clementine Barry, Georgia Knight , Katya Burgess, Lily Newman, Annabel Maclean who all scored 30 points or more from their 2 events.
Very well done to you all – an excellent team achievement.

Year 7 Cricket
The Year 7 Boys’ Cricket Team played a very competitive match against Park House School. Park House batted first and scored 115 for 2, and St Bart’s scored 85 for 7.

Player of the match was Sidney Bloodworth who had the honour of retiring after scoring over 20 runs. A special mention must go Harrison Sergeant-Keeling, who caught one of the opening batsmen with an excellent piece of fielding (bowled by Luke Kingston), and to wicket keeper Ed Hancock who demonstrated more good fielding, making a difficult catch behind the stumps after a good bowl from Yudeesh Balachandran.

Year 8 Cricket
The Year 8s beat Park House to stay undefeated in the league. The boys bowled really well with everyone getting the chance to bowl, restricting Park House to 45-11 off their 90 balls. We then reversed the batting order, with St Bart’s scoring 71-5 off our 90 balls. Well done to all the boys who have played for a very successful season!

Year 8 Rounders
St Bart’s hosted the first set of Year 8 rounders league fixtures.
We had 26 year 8 girls representing the school in this sport.
The A team won 2 games and lost 1.
The B team lost all 3 games.
All girls really enjoyed themselves and played very well.

English Schools Track and Field Cup
Well done to the Junior Boys’, Inter Boys’ and Junior Girls’ Athletics Teams who represented the school in the English Schools Track and Field Cup South West Regional Final at Winchester. The Junior Boys came 8th, the Inter Boys came 5th, and the Junior Girls came 4th.
