As widely reported in the media, there is the possibility that industrial action will be taken on 30 November, in response to proposed changes to the retirement age and pensions for public sector workers. Although the unions that have balloted are authorised by their members to take strike action, as yet, the national unions have not taken a final decision.
It may be, that if industrial action goes ahead, the school will need to be closed to some year groups for the day, for Health and Safety reasons. The duty of care for students’ safety and wellbeing is a paramount consideration; adequate staffing levels are essential in order to maintain an orderly safe and productive environment.
Should it be necessary to close the school to students, information will be sent to parents via the school email system and posted on the school website, at the earliest opportunity.
