Sixth Form Food Bank Collection

The Sixth Form held a collection for the West Berkshire Foodbank in the run up to Christmas, with each tutor group collecting tinned goods and other items to help those most in need. The school minibus had to be used to transport the volume of items to the Foodbank collection centre. We spoke to the organisers who explained their systems for storage and distribution, a huge operation across three different sites in the area. These donations are very much needed as the foodbank gave out around 3600 food parcels to those in need in 2018.

A representative from the Food Bank said the response to their pre-Christmas campaign, “was overwhelming and we are truly grateful for everyone’s generosity. St Bart’s collection weighed 136.4 kg! That’s a fantastic amount and will contribute towards over 130 meals.”

Thank you again to everyone who donated and to the tutors who helped to organise the collection.
