Published on 22 June 2022

Recently we reported that St Bart’s had been nominated and shortlisted for the Progress Award (Secondary) at the 2022 Education Business Awards. We are delighted to reveal that St Bart’s won!

The awards, which have been an annual event since 2006, recognise excellence in the education sector across 18 categories.

The Outstanding Progress Award (Secondary) is presented each year to the UK Secondary School that has demonstrated outstanding progress in business management, benefitting and supporting the educational performance of the school. Our nomination stated: ‘Ofsted rated St Bartholomew’s as Outstanding in November last year. Leaders have put in place thoughtful learning journeys that help pupils see how their knowledge and skills build over time. Careful content planning allows any learning gaps to be quickly identified, with personal development programmes giving pupils valuable time to debate issues around diversity and equality.’

St Bart’s was shortlisted alongside Harris City Academy (Crystal Palace), Haughton Academy (Darlington), Campion School & Language College (Northampton) and Dyke House Sports & Technology College (Hartlepool).  The winners were announced by, TV Presenter, Jeff Brazier during a gala event at the Royal Garden Hotel in London attended by Ms Mortimore and Dr Fitter.

Another fantastic achievement for our school.
