Student Voice & Councils
Student Voice is very important at St Bart’s, each year we send out a whole school student survey and our Student Councils form a vital part of our school community.
Ideas developed through Student Voice inform discussions that take place at a wide range of staff meetings across the school, including the Leadership Team meetings, and are taken into consideration in our school development plans.
We have a Student Council for each year group, which is made up of 1 student from each tutor group. Students are chosen by their peers following presentations to their tutor group. Each School Council is overseen by our Year 12 students.
The Student Councils meet once a half term to represent student views, suggestions and ideas. They discuss topics important to the student body and agree on actions to help improve our school. Topics can be varied, for example lesson delivery, homework, student rewards, school environment, facilities, wellbeing and co-curricular activities.
It is a great opportunity for students to develop skills in teamwork, leadership, discussion, decision-making and presentation and their involvement counts towards their school awards.
