Students’ Lanterns Join Parade

Published 12 January 2023

Every year, hundreds of people take part in Newbury’s Lantern Parade in the weeks leading up to Christmas. The Corn Exchange runs workshops to allow locals to make their own lanterns prior to the parade.

Mr Axten and some of his art students made their own amazing lanterns from willow and tissue paper in school. They joined the parade and shared their stunning creations with the crowds. Well done to Casper Nolan, Yasmin Agodzo, Beatrice and Hermione Cratchley, Gabriella Lungu, Olive Muir and Holly McClellan, some of the students involved.
