Thank You To Our Year 11 Bart’s Ambassadors

Published 18 May 2022

2021-22 saw the launch of our BART’S Ambassadors. Our Year 11 students were keen to apply for the role which saw them act as role models for the younger students and work with teachers and students to drive school improvements.

This year our Ambassadors have supported our Year 7s with settling into life at St Bart’s, delivered assemblies to different year groups and have worked with members of staff across the school. Some of our Ambassadors have taken on further leadership opportunities and have supported and led student council meetings alongside of Sixth Formers, others have been supporting cocurricular clubs and some students have worked with our library team.

Mrs Hewetson, Librarian at St Bart’s Library, said, “I was absolutely delighted when I heard some students had volunteered to help in the Library and become Library Ambassadors. We discussed ideas about how they could help and what they wanted to achieve, and they were brilliant- coming into the Library every week, either working on creating posters from newspaper clippings to appeal to Year 7  – Year 10 students, or helping with regular Library tasks such as shelving books. The students were a real asset to the Library and I would like to thank Amelie McKenzie, Elena Tohux, Mabel Rayner, Maisie Lee and Sophie Jenner for all their hard work over the last few months.”

The students have represented the school with pride as they walk around our site in their purple ties. They have made a strong start to the BART’S Ambassador role, and many of them will continue to drive change when they join our Sixth Form in September. This week our Year 10 students have handed in their application forms to become BART’S Ambassadors and we hope that they will continue the work that our Year 11s have done. Thank you all for your commitment to the school and this role.
