In Year 10 students work towards Level One (4 credits). This will focus on giving students the skill to prepare delicious and nutritious economical home cooked food using fresh ingredients, as well as an understanding of the value of passing on cooking knowledge.

The assignment in year 10 will be to cook a one course dish independently. Internally assessed

In Year 11 students work towards Level Two (6 credits). This will develop the student’s ability to plan and prepare a series of nutritious home cooked meals for breakfast, snacks, lunch and dinner, and helps them understand how to cook economically. Students create a portfolio of evidence that they have cooked, shared and reviewed the food they made, plus evidence of dishes they have cooked at home. The assignment is to cook a healthy, nutritious two course meal showcasing the skills learnt. Internally assessed.
