Young carers are children and young people under 18 who take on caring tasks and responsibilities within their family that most of us only do as adults. The term does not apply to the everyday and occasional help around the home that may often be expected of or given by children in families.
At St Bart’s, we want to make sure that we know all of our young carers so that we can keep an eye on their progress, promote opportunities both inside and outside of school and offer support to help them achieve their full potential.
