On 1 February our three companies attended the Young Enterprise trade fayre at the Kennet Centre in Newbury. An early start was required to get their trade stands set up and ready to sell to the public at 9am. A lot of work was put in prior to the event: designing and preparing the stand, ensuring there were sufficient products to sell and organising a rota for the day. The event was an excellent opportunity for students to discuss their products with the general public and some sales revenue was also generated!
As part of the local Young Enterprise competition the students also received a visit to their stands from the judges. They were asked questions about their production and marketing strategy and were observed in their selling technique. The winners of the ‘best trade stand’, ‘most innovative product’ and ‘best marketing’ will be announced at the showcase final later in the year.
