We are extremely proud of two St Bart’s students who have been offered places in a national orchestra which only has 164 places nationwide.
Musicians wishing to apply to NYO need to be between 13 and 18 years old and of a standard equivalent to that required to pass Grade 8 with distinction. They aim to inspire their members to give world-class performances through the example of role models. As well as the chance to make friends with like minded players there is also the chance to travel, with concerts having been performed in France and Germany in recent years.
Mrs Robertson, Head of Expressive Arts Faculty at St Bart’s said “We are very proud of the outstanding achievements this represents for our students. They are highly dedicated and proficient musicians who continue to promote excellent standards of musicianship at a very young age, whilst remaining an important source of inspiration for their peers too.”
