Business and Economics Conference

On Friday 5 July the Business and Economics department held a conference for Year 12 Business and Economics students with the aim of giving students the opportunity to hear about different careers in Business and Economics.

Students had the opportunity to listen to advice about how to pursue careers in different ways and were able to ask questions and discuss their individual plans with the visitors.

“It gave an insight into possible careers in Business in the future”

Charmaine Lossin

“It was useful to see progression, from those who left school one year ago to those who are well established in their career”

Sam Middleton

Three of our alumni, Harvey Rainbow, Jamie Maughan and Amy Quesada-Getgood, spoke. Harvey studied A’ level Business Studies at St Bart’s and is now following a degree apprenticeship at BMW. He provided an excellent insight into an alternative route to a degree.

Jamie studied A Level Business Studies and Economics and Amy studied A Level Business. Both have chosen a university route to their career and both study Accounting and Finance at Cardiff. Another of our Alumni, Joe Linehan, studied A Level Business and left St Bart’s 3 years ago. He currently studies Business Management at the University of Sussex and was able to give students an excellent insight into the benefits of a degree with a placement year.
