England Junior Judo Squad for Phoebe

Phoebe (12C5) has been practising Judo since she was 6 years old. Winning numerous competitions over the years, she is currently 4 times British Schools Champion.

Despite all the competitions and a lot of training last year being cancelled, Phoebe is now moving from the England Squad Cadets (U17 year olds) into the Juniors (Under 21 year olds). This has involved recent training camps in Portugal with the Portuguese national squad and also in Croatia with their national squad. She trains 3 times a week at her club in Bristol in addition to national squad training and she is studying DISE (Diploma in Sporting Excellence) at Bath University.

Phoebe was also recently nominated for a Sports Aid award from NGB the British Judo Association, which if successful would mean financial support.

Phoebe recently competed in London, at a selection event for the England Junior Squad, winning the bronze medal after a very close semi final against the Welsh number 1.

Her current target is to win the national judo championships in December in Sheffield and then onto European competitions restarting next year.

What a fantastic set of achievements Phoebe. Well done and we look forward to hearing of your continued success!
