The girls competed at the annual Area Athletics competition on Friday 10 May travelling to Palmer Park for a day of competition. We had girls competing in the U15 age group Years 8 and 9 and also in the U17 age group Years 10 and 11, however due to the Year 11s graduating on that day the U17 team was made up solely of Year 10s.
The U15 team achieved some outstanding performances both on the track and field events and were justly rewarded, finishing in 1st place out of 12 schools with a stunning team total of 111 points. A fantastic team achievement.
The U17 team also performed exceptionally well. As a year 10 squad they should be commended for the support and willingness they showed each other.
This team also had some excellent performances both in the track and field events and were justly rewarded, finishing in 2nd place out of 12 teams with a very impressive 99 points narrowly missing out on first place by 2 points to Downe House.
Following on from their excellent performances some of the girls have been selected to represent Berkshire on Saturday 8 June at the County Championships. Congratulations to those selected and Good Luck!
