Sixth Formers Plant Cherry Tree

For our sixth form tutor project this term, E3 decided that we wanted to raise some money to buy a tree that we could plant in the nature reserve and see from our tutor room.

The first decision to make was which kind of tree we wanted. We decided on a cherry tree. The pink bloom would add a pop of colour to the reserve when it flowers in the spring. We worked together, organising several bake sales to raise about £50 to purchase the tree.

The next job was to pick a spot for the tree and, with the help of Mr Amblin, we found a space that we could see from our tutor room without affecting any of the surrounding wildlife. When the tree arrived, we all went out together to dig the hole and plant the tree. We are very proud and excited to see it flower in spring!
