Ski Trip 2019

On 15 February 32 St Bart’s students embarked on their 26 hour coach journey to Austria. We drove through France, Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, and then finally arrived in Alpendorf, Austria, on the 16 February. That day we explored the town we were staying in, and found our hotel which was ski-in ski-out, near the slopes and gondola.

Our room, had 2 beds downstairs plus the toilet and bathroom, then 5 beds upstairs with a cool spiral staircase.

Advanced group: As we arrived at the slopes for the first day of skiing, we met our ski instructors. Our first day skiing was amazing, we managed to do quite a few runs, including exercises such as lifting one ski up when we turned and carving.

Beginner group: This trip was my first time skiing and it was amazing. I loved it and made so many memories that I’m going to always look back on and laugh and smile about. On the ski trip you talk to everyone, even if you don’t normally at school. Our instructors were amazing and the teachers were so funny and kind.

The rest of the week flew by, and our evening activities included a shopping trip, skittles, quiz night, and a pizza night, and lots of games of Dobble. Then on the last day all the groups came together and did a slalom and we had an awards evening before having an early night ready for the long journey back home, after having the best week skiing. The trip was amazing.
