St Bart’s Championship Swimmers

 Published 10 May 2023

We’re proud to report that St Bart’s swimmers have an exceptional end to their season. Kaleb (13D2) qualified for four events in the British Championships at the end of last month. Putting in three great performances, alongside Olympians and Commonwealth swimmers, Kaleb held strong to his personal best times. His best swim was hot on the heels of a late arrival due to a motorway closure. It seemed to work in his favour, as he qualified for a B Final. This bought a new personal best and a move from eighth to sixth position.

Kaleb then went on to win Gold in the 100m freestyle and Silver in the 50m butterfly at the South East Regional Championships. Abbie (13E3), Lucy (11P1) and Saba (11P1) were also competing.

Saba won Bronze in the 100m and 200m breaststroke finals and came 5th in the 50m breaststroke. In her first regional championship, Lucy qualified for the 50m back stroke and finished two places higher than she qualified.

When he leaves St Bart’s, Kaleb’s plans to study for a degree in Sports Management at Bath University, where he will join the intensive swimming team for elite athletes and continue his swimming with one of the best GB teams.

Well done to all our fantastic swimmers. The English and British Nationals are fast approaching, so watch this space!
