Y9 Students Visit Slough Central Mosque

Published 20 July 2022

As part of the GCSE Religious Studies course, students are encouraged to explore how faith makes an active difference in the lives of religious believers. During the recent Curriculum Day trips, Year 9 travelled to Slough Central Mosque to experience the lives of Muslims in contemporary British society. Students had the chance to ask their big questions to a very welcoming team from the mosque as well as take part in a variety of activities which included learning Arabic, seeing wudu demonstrated, trying Shifa foods (health foods mentioned in the Qur’an) and making Eid lanterns. Students also got the opportunity to observe the lunchtime prayers, which was a very special experience. The students excelled in demonstrating our Bart’s values of respect and were a real credit to the school.
