Year 10 Photography Enrichment

The Y10 enrichment photographers had the topic of ‘light’ this week having looked at natural light, low light and the use of flash over the last few weeks. The image by William uses an even natural light for a ‘found’ still life with the round shapes of the empty snail shell contrasting with the linear branches, leaves and stems which create a natural frame for the shell. Abha also  uses an even natural light to capture a central flower in sharp focus with a gentle curve of blurred flowers to keep the eye moving around the frame.

The tree by Masie has a more directional light to emphasise the texture of the weather-worn stump while Marcie captured a tree in near-silhouette with both of the images displaying elements of chiaroscuro (effect of contrasted light and shadow).
