St Bartholomew’s School Trust
The St Bartholomew’s School Trust (reg no. 800133) is a charitable fund supported by the generous donations of our parents and carers in order to enhance the educational experience of all students at St Bart’s.
Make a donation
Each year, we ask all our St Bart’s families for a voluntary contribution of £25 per annum to continue the fund and to enable further enrichment of the lives of St Bart’s students.
However, anyone can donate at any time and as often as they like! All donations are gratefully received and can be made via the St Bartholomew’s School Trust donation page or please contact the Finance office to set up a standing order.
Gift aid
Remember gift aid can be included in the donation and, where applicable, can significantly increase your contribution.
How St Bartholomew’s School Trust enhances the students’ educational experience:
Head Student Bids
Traditionally, our Head Students submit bids to the St Bartholomew’s School Trust on behalf of the student body. The long-established support of the St Bart’s community has funded many of our students’ requests. Successful bids in recent years have included:
- quiet study work stations
- indoor plants for the Sixth Form study space
- a living wall in the Hub
- the large external clock
- proscenium curtains in the main hall for performances
- dance workshops
- Young Enterprise activities
- the Year 7 canopy
Hardship
Supporting students whose families are suffering financial hardship and would not otherwise be able to participate in trips and enrichment, or purchase school uniform and/or equipment. The St Bartholomew’s School Trust allows us to respond directly to the needs of our current students:
- £150 supports access to a Chromebook device for a student
- £100 allows a suit to be purchased for a university interview
- £45 can provide a blazer
- £30 will allow a student to participate in an enrichment activity
- £15 will cover meals in school for a week for a student who falls just outside Government funding criteria
- £10 enables us to gift students a calculator
Sustainability Projects
St Bart’s are in the process of exploring a number of initiatives which we hope will inspire students to support sustainability at school and in their community. We are seeking funding for projects such as:
- restoring and developing the St Bart’s Nature Reserve, a vibrant space for students to learn about nature and enjoy the outdoors.
- providing sustainability-focused trips to offer students experience of eco-projects and innovation around environmental projects
- installing bee hives to support local biodiversity and offer students a chance to learn about the crucial role of pollinators in our ecosystem
- creating new sustainability clubs to foster a culture of repair, reuse and reduce waste within school, such as:
- Kintsugi Club inspired by the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with gold, highlighting the beauty in imperfections. From workshops on fixing everyday items to creative upcycling projects, we’ll encourage everyone to see the potential in what might otherwise be discarded.
- The Mycelium Resistance Club. Like the intricate network of mycelium that supports and nourishes ecosystems, the group will work together to promote eco-friendly practices, reduce waste, and create a greener environment.
Donations can be made at any time to the St Bartholomew’s School Trust donation page. Please do not hesitate to contact our Finance Office in confidence if you require further information about giving to the St Bartholomew’s School Trust.
