Our school values are Brave, Ambitious, Respectful, Trustworthy and Safe. At St Bart’s we expect all members of our school community to demonstrate these values in the classroom and around the school site, so that we can all be the best that we can be.
The school values every individual equally and we expect that each individual will actively contribute towards their own learning and to school life. Students can earn highly sought after House Points and rewards by demonstrating our values. Learn more about our Rewards and about our School Houses.
Being brave means trying new things (whether in lessons or by joining a club), asking for help if needed and speaking up if you see or hear something that concerns you. It is about being resilient, creative and committed to school life.
Being ambitious means trying your hardest at all times, not giving up if you find something difficult and ensuring you are prepared and ready for lessons, in the correct uniform and with the correct equipment. It is about being hard-working, attentive and curious in your learning.
Being respectful means looking after our school site, our environment and being understanding and respectful to other students and staff. It is about being empathetic, patient and polite to others.
Being trustworthy means arriving at school on time and being punctual to your lessons. It is listening to your teachers, following instructions and completing your homework. It is about being honourable and developing personal responsibility for your actions.
Being safe means wearing the St Bart’s uniform with pride. It is about following school rules and expectations, so that the whole community can be happy and confident and benefit from a healthy, safe and secure space.
By everyone in the school community committing to these values, the school is an inspiring, stimulating, hard-working, challenging and successful institution.
St Bart’s strives to ensure that its students leave with the strongest foundation of values upon which to build a successful life and make a successful contribution to our society. The government emphasises that schools are required to ensure that key ‘British Values’ are taught in all UK schools. You can read more about our British Values Statement on our Policies page.
