Harriett Wins Public Speaking Speaking Competition
Congratulations to Harriett (13P3) who won the internal Articulation heat on Tuesday and will go on to represent St Bart’s at the regional heat.
Articulation is a public speaking competition, run by the National Gallery, where students must speak for ten minutes about a piece of art of their choosing. This is the first year St Bart’s has entered.
Four students entered, Harriett and three Year 12 students: Mikey (D4), Laura (P3) and Oliver (C7). All four gave impressive presentations and made it extremely hard for the three adjudicators – Mr Robbins, Mr Keetch and Mrs Nicholls – to pick a winner. In the end it was Harriett’s presentation, on a sculpture ‘Anatomy of a Hug’ by artist Luna Lu, which took the top spot.
The Regional Heat is at MK Gallery on Thursday 1 February and Harriett will compete against speakers from schools from across the South East of England.
