Netball Update
The Year 8 A team had a fantastic netball fixture, securing two dominant wins. In their first match against Trinity School, the team showcased excellent teamwork and defensive strength, winning 23-0. Freya and Hattie were named Players of the Match for their outstanding performances. The momentum continued into the second match against Kennet, where the team delivered another impressive display, winning 22-0. Hattie was awarded Player of the Match for her exceptional contribution. A brilliant effort from the whole team, well done!
Our Year 8 B team played Trinity School B in their first game, playing some lovely netball and taking advantage of lots of space being left in the goal third, meaning Cece and Alexa could test their shooting skills out. The girls won 19-4 with Cece being awarded Player of the Match for her excellent shooting. We then played a friendly against Theale’s A team which was a tough game and a step up in terms of standard. However, the girls did brilliantly, despite being 5-1 down at half-time, they didn’t give up and won the second half 6-3, meaning they narrowly lost 8-7 overall. We made some defensive tweaks for the second half, asking Summer to tightly mark their GA and she did such a great job that she was awarded Player of the Match by Theale. Well done to all our girls who played in cold conditions!
Well done to the Year 9 girls who had a tightly contested game against a very strong Park House team. The girls worked tirelessly to contain the opposition and despite a loss of 8-16 the girls should be proud of their performance.
Players of the Match were Caitlin Atkins and Sasha Haydn Jones.
