U13 Football
Our U13 girls played the next round of cup fixtures away at The Piggott School. Both sides started very strong with a lot of shots on target but no one was able to find the back of the net in the first half.
The second half started fast but Bart’s made the better start and took the lead with Alice putting the ball past their keeper. We stayed strong but unfortunately Piggott managed to get a last-minute goal from a corner which took the score to 1-1 at full time.
Ten minutes of extra time was agreed but again both teams played so well that neither team scored, which meant… penalties. We won the coin toss, which meant we chose to take first, so Eva stepped forward. Penalty scored. 2-1. Piggott penalty – scored 2-2. Alice stepped forward to take her penalty and scored 3-2. Piggott penalty – miss.
Freya was our final penalty taker and scoring this would secure us the win, so a lot of pressure. Freya stepped up with confidence and hit the ball with so much power that their keeper could not save it
Final score was 4-2 and we are onto the next round of the cup! Well done to Eva who was awarded player of the match. Amazing work girls!
